History
Mother was founded around a London kitchen table in 1996 by Mark Waites, Stef Calcraft, Libby Brockhoff, and Robert Saville. Mother has over 400 employees in three continents after Mother New York was founded in 2003, and Madre, based in Buenos Aires launched in 2005.
The Variety of Work
Mother mainly creates Institutional Advertisements. This means they are focused on establishing a corporate identity or winning the public over to the organization’s point of view.
Success:
It was named Agency of the Decade in 2009 by Campaign, has previously won Campaign’s Agency of the Year in 2008, 2002 and 2001. It also won the British Television’s Advertising Awards’ Agency of the Year three times, Marketing magazine’s Agency of the Year and in 2005 the Marketing Services Financial Intelligence also declared that Mother was the top best-run, privately owned marketing services agency in the UK.
Recognisable brands:
Mother has worked with many recognisable brands, including; Ikea, KFC, Moneysupermarket and Pimm’s.

Adverts I like:

I like this Ikea advert as they have made the letters out of human positions on a bed. This is very interesting as it shows what people can do with their products.

This advert is very eye-catching as they have dressed the men in stereotypically female outfits which contrasts with the men's suits. The dancing is also comedic.

I think that this is a very good advert as they have used a very interesting font choice, varying text and font size.

CREATING MY BLOG Over the last couple of days I have begun to create my new media studies blog. During this process I created a new blog on the website Blogger and filmed a short introduction for the page. The video includes a welcome from me and a quick interview. For the video I used a green screen, a DSLR camera and lighting equipment. The green screen was in the equipment so that I was able to have an interesting and eye-catching background. When filming it was important that there was soft lighting so that there are no extreme shadows. After filming this I went onto editing the video, adding text, a moving background and colour correction.

The Article is about an elderly couple who fell on their driveway and died in the heat. The target audience of this would be for an older age group as the story may be more poignant to them as they could be of a similar age. Can you easily find the article online? Trying to find the article on the Daily Mail website was a struggle as the search bar provided did not direct me to the article so I had to scroll through the pages to find it. What section is it under online? When researching the article I found the page under the main news section of the Daily Mail online. It was hard to find due to it not being a very popular story. RED - Filming

RED  - Filming Myself and my filming partner started filming our short film, Red, a modern version of the classic story Red Riding Hood. For the camera we used my iPhone and also a tripod which was used for stability and as a crane. After filming we evaluated our clips and decided to re-record the audio and matched it up in post production. The cast consisted of three four characters which was quite challenging as filming need to fit with the actor's schedule.  We filmed on 4 separate occasions for different times of day which helped create different atmospheres and moods.
