Guardian Rebrand

Guardian Rebrand

When did the rebrand happen?:
The Guardian newspaper held a complete rebranding of itself and look on the 15 January 2018

Why has the rebrand happened? What is the print media fighting against? :
The Guardian has signed a contract for Trinity Mirror, an external company that is the publisher of the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and Sunday People. The merge with the publishing company has been influenced by various reasons including continuing falls in the print advertising market and the rising cost of publishing newspapers, this is due to consumers move towards digital media.

How long is the transformation plan and what do they want to continue with?:
According to David Pemsel, the chief executive of GMG, “This is an important step in our three-year transformation plan,”. They plan to continue with the ever evolving print media as well as digital media.

What are the main differences in styles?

One of the most prominent changes that the image of the newspaper has undergone is the change in logo and the removal of the iconic blue colour scheme.

Do you like the rebranding?:
In my opinion, I do not like the rebranding as they have lost an icon theme that was used in their brand
